Dear Husband, Part 53

Emmeline has had a tendency in the last few weeks to go down in her crib between 6:30 and 7:30 but then wake up an hour or so later, wide awake and in no way ready for sleep.  When I'm working or need a break, Wes will often take her, and his caretaking usually involves sitting with her in front of the television while he watches whatever sports are on -- of late, the NBA playoffs.  She's been so content to sit with him on these occasions that I joked she just wanted to stay up to see how the game turned out.  (Wes sees no correlation in the fact that she's often "ready" for bed right when the game ends and that she might be "ready" sooner if he didn't sit with her in front of the television, but, bygones.)

Last night, Emme went down in her crib right at 7:30, seemingly exhausted, no fussing whatsoever.  But an hour later, she was wide awake.  Wes went and brought her downstairs, and then, on realizing there was no playoffs game on, commented, "I guess nobody told her it's a travel night."
